They even supported the NICS, and have campaigned to strengthen mental-health reporting requirements.

As for you lot? James O'Keefe-style propaganda videos seem to be the flavor of the month, followed in popularity by appeals to emotion.
The most accurate way to describe the restrictionistas' approach would be to call it "abstinence-only".
As evinced in places like Chicago and DC, "abstinence-only gun control" works about as well in curbing gun crime as "abstinence-only
sex education" works in curbing teen pregnancy.

And BTW, the US murder rate has been dropping for years...
