(20,600 posts)in a personal way and then seem to answer it for everyone with a yes.
Does that mean everyone who answered no in the thread (quite a few!) is being an unpatriotic Dem?
Regarding your points, um, you know unemployment is still high, right? And that people who have been unemployed for a long time aren't even counted in the statistics any longer, so the real unemployment number is much higher too.
Yes, its good we are finally leaving Iraq, but Afghanistan is still a monumental mess, and many of us who are Democrats are very much against drones. We don't think sending in drones that often kill innocent people in other countries is a great idea. You know, it even could be called terrorism. Just because its "our" drones killing people doesn't mean it isn't, though. I understand why people (read: Americans) don't want to see it that way, because that would make then uncomfortable.
Yes, the stock market has done well, which benefits the rich most of all. The wealthy have gotten a lot richer under President Obama, so I expect they should be very grateful to him. He even extended their disgusting huge tax breaks that Bush first did, remember?
Yes, Obama does get credit regarding the auto industry, good for him.
America has gained back some respect, but it is not back up to the levels it once was. Our drone assassination program is looked at very unfavorably by many countries and by the U.N. as well.
I never was worried about Al queda in the first place. That is a fear mongering type of talking point, which gives credit to the republicans brainwashing Americans into always being in a state of being scared of terrorists under their bed and in the closets.
Also, Obama has gone along with increasing the police state-ism started by Bush, I didn't like slowly but surely turning our society into a total surveillance society under Bush, so I'm not going to like it under Obama. This is one of my biggest problems with Obama, as someone who believes civil liberties and freedom should be one of the foundations of our democracy. The government has no business spying on people using drones flying around the United States in a big brother type atmosphere.
