And you know the rest. No. Sheriff is a political position now. I might object to a rickety eighty year old dude patrolling the mean streets like Seth Bullock but I don't see why a person of age couldn't be effective in the position as it is. In many cases age brings wisdom. You can't use an imbecile like "Sheriff Joe" as a reason to impose age limits on an occupation.
