18. Sliced hot dog stewed in ketchup & brown sugar served over white boiled potatoes.

My mom was a remarkable horrible cook. During the obligatory grace, there would be silent prayers begging God to transport us to Grandma's house. There were meals that even the dog wouldn't eat and many nights that I crept down to the kitchen and quickly made (and ate) a Wonder Bread, oleo, and white sugar sandwich. But she tried and got that recipe in a leading "ladies" magazine in the 60s.
