73. It was papa Bush and Bill Clinton who ended the duopoly restrictions that prohibited any one company

to own more that a small percentage of any one market.

Years ago, there were thousands of small owners all over country. I worked for a small radio operation back in the late 80's and early 90's.

Once the restrictions were "relaxed", the large companies bought up hundreds of station across the country and then started centralized programing that they beamed into the stations. Now all it took to run a station was a board operator, a couple of sales people to bring in the cash and a station manager to take care of all the book work.

It then that Rush offered free streaming of his radio show while letting the local radio to have a few spots in each break.

It killed radio as a democratic tool.
