I knew about the ability to get surviving spouse benefits. Did not know that spouses that didn't work could get a partial Social Security.

That being said, I think the idea that you would have something that you earned is better than relying on something from someone else, even a spouse.

Seriously, if the Repubs really believe what they say about working moms, they'd support this..but we all know that they don't really believe what they say about working moms.
