26. Murkowski voted with the Senate dems to defeat the defunding of Planned Parenthood, AND ...

Apr 2012

she has actually voted with the dems several other times since her re-election in 2010.
I can't remember all the other times off the top of my head.

Murkowski, Collins, Snowe, and Brown cross the aisle the most to vote with the dems compared to the other GOPers.

The DU Planned Parenthood vote THREAD here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=439&topic_id=892978&mesg_id=893511

Oh, and ...
Murkowski did not filibuster Goodwin Liu's judicial nomination
Here's a link to the DU Liu conformation thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=4856580&mesg_id=4856650
<SNIP> ... One Republican, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), crossed party lines to oppose the filibuster. <SNIP>

There are more examples of her crossing the aisle but I don't know where they all are right now.

p.s. I am NOT saying that anyone should vote for her, I'm just pointing out that she is not as bad as some of the other republicans.

Edited to add:

Excerpt from old article regarding Lilly Ledbetter

Yesterday's bill passed the Senate 61-36, enough to stop another threatened filibuster. Without the support of Republicans Susan Collins (R-ME), Olympia Snowe (R-ME), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R-TX) it would have fallen short.

AND

Hate crimes bill
Murkowski was one of five Republican senators who voted with Democrats for the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

AND

Don't ask don't tell
Murkowski supported the repeal of Don't ask, don't tell after careful consideration of the Department of Defense report. "Our military leaders have made a compelling case that they can successfully implement a repeal of 'don't ask, don't tell,' " she said. "It is infinitely preferable for Congress to repeal the law, and allow the service chiefs to develop and execute a new policy, than to invite a court-ordered reversal of the law with no allowance for a military-directed implementation. I've heard from Alaskans across the state who believe it's time to end this discriminatory policy, and I agree with them."[25] On December 18, 2010, Murkowski voted in favor of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010.
