On the other hand, if the only thing causing doubt in the public mind with a bombing run on Iran is the perception of benefit, there are ways of convincing people that there's something to be gained by not objecting too strenuously to yet another act of aggressive war. I'm thinking "lower gas prices" would be a sufficient promise, empty as it is.
