There is irony in vehemently expressing ones indifference towards a topic.
If one was truly indifferent then they would likely not be shouting out their opinions on it. One who is outraged on the other hand would be expected to do so.
With that said - I don't the OP falls into that category. Sounds like he is indifferent to the royal birth but is outraged (or at least annoyed) that it distracts from other things the media could be covering.
