16. he was lane splitting well before the accident, but that's immaterial to this issue

he was hit well after the lane splitting too place.

lane splitting is legal in many jurisdictions, Nevada, I believe is included, California is as well, if done safely.

finally, the cop needed to leave himself adequate room to stop prior to traffic in front of him, be it a truck, bike or smaller car.
