51. So you're not going to vote for elected representatives because Obama did something you didn't like?

Jesus Christ, REALLY?

You know why people engage in hippie-punching? Because they make it so goddamn easy.

You're on your high horse all day every day, screaming about purity and how the President has betrayed us because he hasn't legalized weed/eats burgers instead of tofu/talks to his political enemies. You scream and moan about the smallest parts of the liberal agenda while ignoring the fact that if we don't get the bigger pieces, NOTHING ELSE WILL FUCKING MATTER.

I'm not disputing your right to be angry with Obama or any amount of elected Democrats or liberals or who the fuck else. He's done some things to piss me off too--hell, government transparency was one of the big reasons I voted for him, and he's let me down big time on that front. But in our first-past-the-post political system, I look at the two major parties and I see one group trying to govern and the other trying to burn everything down and piss on the ashes. What choice do you think I make?

Yes, that's right. I protest, I wave signs, I criticize--BUT I VOTE.

And do you know why? Because if you don't fucking vote, YOU DON'T GET TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO REPRESENT YOU.

Bingo. Dead on. nt. OldDem2012 Mar 2013 #1
