South Park is unfunny corporatist right-wing trash. On the other hand, MacFarlane is absolutely brutal in skewering right wingers. Most people wouldn't be willing to assault American militarism and jingoism and up front as he did here:

Then the entire gay marriage episode that was utterly brilliant. Look at this way: Seth is indoctrinating millions of young viewers to progressive ideology and deliver millions of new Democratic voters. Millions of kids who grew up watching Family Guy are convinced Republicans are all utter trash and are nothing but sexist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic bigots who deserve to be compared to Nazis. Are they voting Republican? Well I think the 18-29 voting records in the last couple elections proved that.
