They are having a lot of problems with their new government and there is a possibility of ciivl war. Now that US troops are not present Iraq is now pretty much off the radar.

The two wars alone will have cost us over $2 trillion dollars. Iraq and Afghanistan have not been totally self sufficient. I doubt they have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance companies operating in those countries. Much of the populace is in extreme poverty. Someone is taking care of the sick and wounded. Our tax dollars largely went into military operations and supporting a lot of their infrastructure.
