(46,436 posts)51. We're actually thinking of taking a train trip this summer
just for fun. Fly to Seattle, take the train to Chicago, fly to Denver to see our daughter and family, and then fly back to AK. I'm thinking that north plains route might be nice since I've never been to those states.
It really is kind of a sparse-looking map, though.

Let me add that all the blue circles in PA are EXTREMELY misleading. NO train service, e.g.,

I traveled on Amtrak last week thru the Los Angeles station where I had a three hour wait for a bus.

Long distance train travel is not preferred at this time because it costs as much as a plane
