Although it can have genetic and developmental components, it isn't really considered a birth defect, it certainly isn't yet possible to look at a person's genome, or even their protein expression as juveniles, and have any real idea about future problems involving cognition, emotion and/or behavior.

Dorner's manifesto names depression as a problem...without arguing about that, I'd merely point out that 50 percent of people who get depression get it AFTER age 33.5.

Another thing to realize is that Dorner has expressed vengeful embitterment. Embitterment (and vengence) are NOT symptoms of mental illness recognized by the American Psychological Association, even though post-traumatic embitterment is a diagnosis used in Germany.
