hopefully they will plan a BIG party *without* the "help" of the school.

Prom isn't free, and the local vendors will probably "help" get things started.

Problem solved.

ON EDIT: Taking something away from "everyone" that "everyone" can easily re-create without your help just strikes me as foolish on the part of the administration of this school. Also, throwing out a punishment that wouldn't hit for months to stop behavior NOW -- DUMB. Not impressed.
