(146,262 posts)part of the usage of the word "taint." Taint is a perfectly acceptable word in English, with a range of meanings that gives it an honorable place in the language. That it has been used otherwise is not relevant. Its use as a name for the perineum of the human body applies to both males and femails, and is based on an error, since it refers to a misspelling of the contraction 'taint. As I said, I'm a student of the language in all of its uses. It's difficult to find a word I'm not familiar with. I'm an old man, with a long life of loving the English language.
I'm also a contributor to Urban Dictionary, using the same screen name I use here. I do not consider usages defined there to be legitimate definitions of words which have long usage without a slang definition. "Taint" is such a word.
