because when you cut through the hyperbolic BS, there are very few gun accidents relative to the shear number of gun owners. The risk spread over the population of gun owners would make insurance dirt cheap.

And of course you realize that liability insurances only covers accidents - it is of no benefit to victims of crime. As an analogy, if I was to use my car to deliberately run you over, my insurance would not pay you.
