15. If they would just keep the repression in NK (or a red state), "I would not have a problem with it"?
Repression anywhere is a bad thing. Just because it does not affect me directly right now is not a good reason for me to ignore it and go about my own life. (They came for the Jews and I said nothing because I'm not Jewish, ...)
If it were me being repressed I would appreciate the rest of the world trying to do something about it rather than saying "At least that's not me living in that red state (or in North Korea)." There may or may not be anything effective that others can do for me at a particular point in time but I would at least appreciate that they did not just accept my fate and move on.
I agree that red state republicans exporting their repression (as they are fond of doing) to the rest of us makes things even worse than keeping it within the borders of their own states. (Similarly Kim and his buddies would love to export their wonderful style of government southward which would make things even worse.) Rather than writing off victims of repression in red states or North Korea it is in our long term interests to look for ways to support them. That may be difficult (or even impossible) to do effectively right now but we should not stop caring.
We have learned that we cannot live alone, at peace; that our own well-being is dependent on the well-being of other nations far away. ... We have learned to be citizens of the world, members of the human community. ... We shall strive for perfection. ... We may make mistakes, but they must never be mistakes which result from faintness of heart or abandonment of moral principle.
