(3,102 posts)he always seems very alert and runs off at the slightest noise outside, but usually returns before long. He first showed up on my patio last fall, eating the bird seed and peanuts I throw out for the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. I was absolutely flabbergasted - though he looked healthy I decided to throw out something more substantial for him. I know dogs love peanut butter, so I started throwing out cut up peanut butter sandwiches on whole wheat bread, and it's so cute to see him daintily pick them up in his mouth and trot off with them - very catlike demeanor and movement. I have two completely indoor cats, and they love to watch him too - they don't get all excited and puffy the way they do when a neighboring cat shows up to torment them!
