it is possible to use a bathroom while armed and not need to remove a pistol from a holster. One very good reason to have some form of retention holster.

A few styles of concealment holsters are not very convenient for using the bathroom, but generally those styles of holster are designed to be easily removed. The gun never leaves the holster and when finished the holster is replaced.

Even fewer do not promote this option and the gun is better removed to avoid dropping out of the holster. In this case it is suggested to remove a shoe and place the gun in the shoe. It is hard to walk away and not notice you have only one foot in a shoe.
