Presidents and their families get the full protection because if they didnt crazy people for a variety of reasons would just assasinate every President and their family.Theres also the prospect of nut jobs kidnapping the President and his family and ask for who knows what.
So the premise that the Presidents family is more worthy of protection is valid as a matter of national security.
