This is particularly true about politics, I know far more about what's going on than I did pre internet and I was a regular newspaper reader, library goer, listen to NPR, watch the Sabbath gasbag shows type person.
On the other hand crazy ideas also get spread really fast and effectively too so the low information voter turns into the the negative information voter, everything he thinks he knows is wrong.
No civil war but some seriously deranged terrorism for at least the next decade.
