Look, I'm a pacifist. I don't like guns, don't even like the military, because I think that they are a force, not for defense, but for killing. I don't think ANYONE should own a gun, period. But guns have been around a long time. Bad parents have been around for a long, long time, as have bullies. Video games are a relatively new addition, but I doubt they have that much effect on real behavior. The fact is that these other "variables" don't hold a candle to five percent of the 31 million Americans (and that's just the adults!) who are taking SSRI drugs, who have an adverse event and go out to kill the themselves while taking some of the rest of us with them. In fact, they are known to cause hostility and aggressive, violent behavior in patients taking them. I think that we ignore these warnings at our own peril.
