I assume it was at least partly because of the way she talked about loss of privacy and most in that room can relate to that and are also keenly aware of the changes/challenges in her life because of John Hinckley.
It was a great speech. Before anyone judges her I think they need to see the full video - including the censored parts.
This event is important but it seems we have some real shit heads in this thread.
