7. For some people, denial of the truth is easier the facing what actually happened.

Kids were murdered. It really happened. I live in CT and wish it never happened. I really don't enjoy watching my Governor practically break down giving the State of the State address. Or watch the families suffering and the kids that went to Sandy Hook interviewed on the local news about the whole thing. I didn't enjoy the uneasy feeling when I dropped my kids off at school in the days after, thinking about copycats. Or that there were police at my kid's school and at many schools in Connecticut following the shootings.

It's nice and easy to fit this cleanly in a box and simply call it a conspiracy. Some people did that for 9/11 too. But sometimes, real life really is that horrific.
