The top marginal income taxes, capital gains, dividends and estate tax would all go back up to Clinton era. Far from getting back to pre-Reagan rates on rich but its a start. It would be easy to pass middle class tax cuts though in January.

Of all the compromises that could be made to get the GOP to budge, this is fairly inoffensive.

The rich have not had 'zero taxes' and this deal only raises the very rich by 4.6 %

Seems to me like the Republicans doubled the income level to be taxed that Obama campaigned on.
