In reply to the discussion: What is with the sudden outpouring of respect for George Bush Sr? [View all]The left-right nomenclature is a shortcut to avoid thinking. If Poppy were out there in the mix these days, he'd be far far to the right of Obama. His support for the Republican Party has not wavered an iota while the party has marched steadily off to kooky la-la land.
