(18,115 posts)I have a feeling most of those still clinging to anti-regulation after Newtown were not parents. It seems that many parent gun owners changed or softened their position after Newtown. I know several, myself included, who voluntarily surrendered all guns in the aftermath.
There were still plenty clinging to the idea that there is no gun problem. We now have firefighters being shot. I suspect some working class folks, union members, family-focused types will fine this is their tipping point.
There are plenty though, who will never change. Regardless of how senseless the killing, regardless of the body count, regardless of the victims. They are sick. I mean, something is wrong with them. They lack something the rest of humanity has. Empathy, respect for themselves and life, or something. It is sad. We all lose due to a loud obstinate minority.
