and his offer was more of a bluff? I think his team is pretty shrewd. They know the tea party is batshit insane. They can offer ANYTHING without fear of repubs actually agreeing. The downside is that dems get outraged, not realizing that it's only a bluff. Of course, that too works in his favor.
