35. The BIG problem with that ....

...it is extremely Regressive.
The RICH will get to own all the guns they want.
The poor son of a bitch that actually NEEDS a gun to feed his kids
will be taxed again.

I live in a rural area (Ouachita Mountains, Arkansas) where desperate poverty is a BIG problem.
Many families count on hunting to feed their families (Sad but TRUE).
Venison is a local medium of exchange,
and is a common a Christmas gift to neighbors for those who have NO money.

The other problem will be getting Americans to honestly report Gun Ownership so that they can be taxed.
Good Luck with THAT.
