I promise I will NEVER mess with you. I do my best to get it as right as I can.
There are too many people on this board who jump on issues like social fads and deliver absolute gospel opinions on little or no information, or without even considering if the information that they do have might not be the definitive information that they need in order to assess a situation and venture an evaluation/judgement.
Those who love rationalism ALWAYS maintain the possibility that to one degree or another they could be wrong. Not so here. To me that means at minimum it is possible that people don't know/understand what is going on, or, worse, they do and their purposes could be to use the disadvantages of others to whatever their own true agenda is.
The reason this is so important to me, at this point, has mostly to do with the evolution of health care in this country. It's time to push for expansion of services covered, at minimum, and to push harder for coverage for absolutely everyone. We are close to being able to do that kind of push, but I think because of what is going on with Labor right now, there are some real heavy weights in this situation trying to fracture President Obama's grassroots' support. Those forces own our media and that of course extends into their awareness of what is going on on the whole internet, including places like the DU. THIS is what President Obama is up against and it CAN affect health care for ALL Americans, so I'm here to fight it.
I hope I wasn't too rough earlier. I'm sorry. I was in a thread earlier today in which people were either lying intentionally about President Obama or were ignorant of the FACTS but didn't care that they were. I'm tired, frustrated, and frightened by this strong inclination toward ignorance and, perhaps, dishonesty.
