3. I don't really see how prohibiting guns on the street "hurts" anyone.

I understand some folks have a hard time venturing out without one. But, jeez why not make a sacrifice for society and leave the things at home (and even then, don't acquire too many).

If there were less guns, it would be harder for criminals to get them (and less likely a previously "law-abiding" gun owner suddenly breaks the law with it).

Also, if so-called responsible gun owners wouldn't leave them around for someone to steal, or sell them to anyone with a fist full of cash without a background check, we'd be better off. Finally, we'll be better off if we'd work on changing the perception of guns in our society and quit promoting more and more of them and laxer gun laws that encourage the Zimmerman's of the world to shoot innocent people.
