City attorney Scott Jebson said Obrycka will receive her settlement regardless, but is looking out for the best interests of taxpayers against “misuse” of the judgment by plaintiffs in similar lawsuits against the city.

The City has dropped the appeal of the verdict amount, and is focusing on the finding "code of silence." This is smart, since 850k is small potatoes compared to the liability the finding "code of silence" will bring.
