35. No. Senator Kerry is *not* a conservative.

Nov 2012

He's an old establishment Democrat. I think that makes him a moderate Democrat as far as a DNC Democrat is "moderate". But because he is a moderate Democrat, he would definitely make an excellent SoS. I don't doubt that for one second. Had Scottie Brown not won Ted Kennedy's seat - of all senate seats - I would have happily wanted President Obama to choose him.

However, let me be clear . . . I am not a "big fan" of Ambassador Rice. I merely question the motives behind this rabid and baseless attack by the GOP of her reputation, and understanding that Scott Brown's war chest is still pretty well filled, I'm betting on it that they hope they can have their man take a second bite out of a U.S. Senate pie.

I know there are many, MANY, people who are dying to have Senator Kerry picked as President Obama's next SoS, but I question their motives that's pretty clear for anyone willing to see it. I don't think President Obama is going to buckle, though.

I really hope you're willing to ignore any perceived insult on your person because I wasn't insulting you. I said as much in my post.
