Of course, you could follow it through the chain of expenses, and it goes into the basket of company expenses, that then get passed on to consumers, like other expenses (payroll taxes, shoplifting losses, bankruptcy losses, cost of inventory, etc.).

It's possible companies have insurance to protect about that, but I don't know.
