I find it ironic that not one post has yet to mention the context of this quote. Dr. Farmer has done a lot of work in Haiti, often putting himself at great inconvenience to reach people in remote areas who need medical assistance.
News about suffering in Haiti often take a backseat in world news, unless vast numbers of people are affected.
I understand the quoted can apply to many different circumstances, but it would be appropriate to acknowledge the original intent of the message.
