didn't pick it up. Out in corn & cattle country, nobody heard about it if the local rags chose to ignore it. And they did so choose.
It is somewhat different now. In fact, I think the failure of CU $$ to buy the election is largely attributable to the decline of the traditional mass media as major sources of information for the public.
