By whom I mean the politicians who keep the drug war going.
This would not be happening except for bad policy deliberately enacted by politicians for personal gain.
ETA: I guess I expected more from you Nadine than I do the M$M in general. If you were directly talking to the DEA honcho as a reporter you could have asked him if legalization would help solve this problem, even a "no comment" would be good information. But doing that would endanger your access, wouldn't it? You would never be allowed to get close to him again so instead we get all the usual blather, just this time from you instead of the M$M.
Ask the wrong questions as a reporter and you get blacklisted I'm sure.
