far apart from your friend, though.

I take politics seriously, so I know where your friend is coming from (although I have not dropped any Republican friends, tho I don't have any close Republican friends).

My family is rightwingnut. I avoid politics, to teh extent I can. But they keep trying to bait me. I haven't spoken to them since the election. I am avoiding it.

It doesn't sound like much of a loss, the loss of your friend. If she did that, she wasn't really a friend. But really, you all but TOLD them to unfriend you. So they did. That old saying....be careful what you ask for; you might get it.
