the masses may actually want to have the "stuff" and "things" that white men think they are simply entitled to.

A memory that sticks out in my mind is a woman I worked with in South GA who spoke in disgust about how when the government started giving assistance to the "black folks" in her rural community, they quit working as maids for her family and the other white families. So, basically, she was against welfare programs because they took away her family's cheap source of labor.
