I'm struck by the reach of social media and humor to shape opinions. Jon Stewart on the Daily Show did several segments on the Jeep story. I wish I could find them on Youtube to post. We've had my 82 year old MIL staying with us since Hurricane Sandy hit and we've introduced her to the Daily Show. She's sharing what she sees with her friends and it's been HILARIOUS to overhear. Like this one:
Mom's Friend: Obama bails out the auto industry and they move jobs to China. Isn't that terrible?
Mom: It's not true, X.
Mom's Friend: I saw on Fox, Mitt Romney, blah, blah, blah.
Mom: It's not true. Turn off Fox news and watch The Daily Show. You'll laugh and you'll get the true story.
Mom's friend: Daily Show?
Mom: Yes, John Stewart. He's a nice Jewish boy.
