People who made <$50 put him in. He was elected because people of varied races, both men and women, stood together and voted him in, regardless of the percentages. One could argue that gender or race is important, but lose nearly any of those, and he would not have won.

On the other hand, there is a distinct break with people whose incomes are >$50K - Them's the opponents
