Unlike here, in my red state, where celebration is kind of furtive and frantic, the Germans that my daughter and I met several years ago, seemed to be gently amused most of the time, everyone flirted good-naturedly with everyone else, and at the festivals we attended you never saw anyone stupid drunk, although everyone did enjoy the beer or wine a LOT.
I wonder if we could learn anything about trade-policy from Germany, since they are the most successful traders in all of Europe, right? Perhaps some of us should be reading up on this.

. . . but then maybe that's just my blood calling me, because I love Kansas too, though it's not nearly as lush as Germany.
