Now that long distance charges are a thing of the past, I can use it to call my parents and out of town friends without having to worry about counting my minutes on my cell. (Believe it or not, I have gone over.)
As for my cell phone, I still have a "dumb" phone and look at the clamour over the latest Iphone with odd curiosity.
That and I rarely text.
By the way, in case you are wondering, I'm in my early 30s. I guess I should be more "hip" like most people my age and lose the landline and get the Iphone 56039935 with 8 million aps, but whatever. I like using phones for calling people.

Your internet will still work, as will Skype - but you can't call 911. Can call the nonemergency #.

Yes, two land lines--one for hubby's office--one for our 'home'. Have cells, too.
