"If you don't have anything to hide, why are you afraid of the government eavesdropping on your calls or secretly recording what you have to say. I don't mind - I have nothing to hide..."
They have said this in the past like a mantra.

yeah--our innocent loophole-free tax returns will be unfairly attacked by vandals in the press

We plead the fifth. We won't release our returns because they will tend to incriminate us.
