He started the flight with a handshake and an introduction and then went into his political philosophy! I got quite an earful. Good to know how Alaskans were helped by him. You never really know until you get the scoop from the locals how someone really is. What we saw was not that guy so I am glad to know that all his years were helpful to you all.

There is not a whole lot of cultural diversity here, some but not where I live. We are all pretty much the same, white farmers. I wish it was different. Lots of diversity of thought though and the more I talk to people the more I learn that there is a real point of agreement. If we could just get rid of all the nasty TV and radio that locks people into an ideology and had actual political discussions without the screaming we would be a lot closer to being a purple state. As it is now we are so solidly red that there are hardly any democrats around. The districts were changed and I think for the first time in my life I will have a state rep who is not a republican. I even know her, it will make my life a little better even though she is one of a rare group...liberals.
