(28,552 posts)... should be rude. However, I do not take the actions of one low level employee as indicative of the whole company's attitude either.
We buy a LOT of stuff at Lowes. They mess up on occassion. Recently, we had ordered some tile and grout for our contractor to pick up the next day. It was supposed to be ready at 10:00 AM. Our guy arrived at noon and the order wasn't ready. He had to wait an hour for them to pull it. Not good, but what came after was even worse. We had ordered 4 bags of grout of a particular color. Well, they pulled one bag of the wrong color, and guess what, that was the first bag our tile installer used. So he's laid 300 feet of tile with the wrong color grout.
We were livid. My wife went to Lowes and asked to talk to a manager. She politely but firmly told them that they screwed up and that their screwup was costing us money. Long story short, we got all our grout for free plus $150 (in cash) as compensation for our labor costs.
Lowes is not perfect and certainly any store that you do a lot biz with will mess up from time to time. They made is as right as possible and the funny thing is we would up liking the "mistake" grout color better anyway
