Put me in charge of food stamps, Id get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho HOs, just money for 50 pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza then get a job.
I partially agree with this. I think that junk food (ice cream, pizza, cookies, chips, soda etc) and drinks should be banned from food stamp purchases. And rice and beans are very good for you compared to the average American diet, but its not enough variety for taste or complete nutrition.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a government job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.
I think this would be a good idea like back during the FDR days but ironically the Republicans would never go for it and it would probably be more expensive than the current system.
