Introducing Discussionist: A new forum by the creators of DU

What do you do when...

...you post a response to a thread that apparently should have had a "sarcasm" smiley (??) and has now been removed by jury decision because nobody read the subject header ("The <republican> response to this is soooo predictable"), and now you're being stalked by a user (Warren Stupidity) who goes to your previous posts and calls you a troll? Tried to message the user but apparently I'm not active enough to have the privelege. Doesn't feel like Democracy to me, I've done nothing wrong and stuff like this really discourages participation.

Advice anyone?

1. Don't sweat it.

I was juror #6 on that. I kinda figured you forgot the sarcasm smiley. FWIW, I was called a troll for quite awhile. I actually researched (stalked? ) some of your other posts after I voted and it enforced my theory.

Just keep posting ZC, and welcome to DU!

P.S. FYI, this should have been posted in Meta. You might get your thread locked. If so, I would certainly suggest you repost this in Meta.

2. OK, Thank you

Is there an easy way move this to Meta or do I start from scratch? Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

PS: Shouldn't the jury get to hear something from the "defendant" before voting?

3. I second this...

just continue to post and don't make a big deal about it. That will just make things worse.

Welcome to DU!

4. I ain't stalking you

I ran across a trollish thread of yours and noted it. Your hidden post was such obvious sarcasm that a jury completely missed it. If you are not a troll I apologize. If you are, it will be clear enough over time. As a newcomer I'd suggest a bit more care about being clear what your intentions are.

Meanwhile, welcome to du.

5. Thanks, I think

You happened to run across a "trollish" 2-day-old thread minutes after my other post was hidden by jury? OK, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Did you notice in the "trollish" thread how I apologized to the poster after we conversed? Did you see how we conversed in a civil manner and re-shaped eachother's original opinions?

I suspected that you saw what you needed to see to confirm your suspicion and ignored any evidence to the contrary. My bad. Just don't see how it was "trollish".

In the post that was hidden, my subject line said essentially "this is how they will respond" then my post made a self-righteous demand on Obama to not use the word "Medicare" in his ads. I still don't understand how 6 people don't get it. Again, obviously, my bad.

Also not sure why a jury wouldn't be given the opportunity to hear from the "defendant" or why the defendant wouldn't be afforded the opportunity to adjust his post for clarification before being labeled a "hideous troll" among other things. Doesn't seem very progressive to me and, frankly, has had me pissed off all day.

So, in summary, if you are not a stalker or self-appointed troll police, I apologize. Time will tell.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
